Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way is the star of a brand new 6-part television series on ITV showcasing the wonders of Ireland’s Atlantic seaboard — and with a name like “Wild Ireland” you’d have to hope that Ireland’s wildlife will feature in the production.
Over 6 weeks the series will chart the progress of former The One Show presenter, Christine Bleakly as she drives, bikes, hikes, swims and kayaks her way from Malin Head in the far north to Kinsale in the south-west corner of Ireland. Christine will be discovering some of the hidden gems along the 2,500 km of The Wild Atlantic Way — the longest defined coastal touring route in the world.
The first half-hour episode airs tonight at 8pm on ITV, when Christine heads to Louisburgh, Co. Mayo to do a spot of coasteering.
We’re looking forward to some spectacularly wild scenery — and really hope that some of the fantastic wildlife experiences along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way make it into the show.
