New collection of wildlife and nature writing published

January 18, 2017 by Calvin Jones Leave a Comment

The Irish Wildlife Collection: Volume OneRegular readers will know that I’ve been publishing articles profiling Irish wildlife on the back page of one of Ireland’s most popular weekly magazine, Ireland’s Own, since way back in 2001. Over the years I’ve had many letters from readers of the magazine asking if there was anywhere they could buy a collection of these articles in book form.

Unfortunately the answer was always no… until now!

The Irish Wildlife Collection: Volume One

I’m delighted to announce the release of the first volume of “The Irish Wildlife Collection”. Based around a core of the profile articles originally published in Ireland’s Own, the book is punctuated throughout with an eclectic mix of wildlife and nature writing that has featured across a range of high-profile publications like BBC Wildlife Magazine, The Irish Independent, The Irish Examiner, The Countryman and Wild Ireland to name a few.

Covering everything from humpback whales to dandelions and whalewatching to the backyard jungle, this inaugural collection is a celebration of Irish wildlife in all its guises. You can see a preview of the book below:

Get your copy today via Amazon, either as a Kindle eBook or as a paperback (use Amazon.co.uk from Ireland or the UK, Amazon.com from the US or simply search for Irish Wildlife Collection on your local Amazon store).

Volume One is just the start: keep your eyes peeled for The Irish Wildlife Collection Volume Two in the spring, and subsequent volumes later in the year. If you’d like me to let you know when a new volume is out simply sign up to the Ireland’s Wildlife mailing list below and I’ll drop you a line.
